Involved in training and education internally with peers as well as externally with community first responders. Base Safety Rep duties include report writing, attending safety meetings, performing base safety audits, comprise and update Local Emergency Action Plan (LEAP), and base safety training. Jeddah Saudi Arabia - Crew Chief, May 2014 - Sept. 2015Performed a wide range of specialized functions and complex assessments, diagnoses, therapies, and emergency treatment of patients transported by rotor-wing and/or fixed-wing and/or ground. Excelled quickly and obtained a highly competitive overseas contract within PHI serving as Crew Chief and Flight Paramedic. Was sole PHI Air Medical clinician on rotor wing aircraft in the Jeddah and Riyadh provinces of Saudi Arabia. Along with managing critically injured or ill patients, responsibilities included the task of education and training of Saudi Arabian clinicians, who are employed by the Saudi Arabian Red Crescent Authority. These colleagues' education ranges from that similar to a US-trained EMT-Basic, to Saudi trained physicians with no out of hospital care experience. The challenges of delivering “on the job” education are made more palpable by language barriers and the devastating trauma that Saudi Arabia bears. Nearly every response is to a mass casualty, mass fatality traffic accident. Most patients required advanced airway and ventilatory management, many times resulting in the PHI Air Medical clinician performing two rapid sequence inductions and dual patient care/transport with those patients to the nearest trauma center, many times, from extremely distant and remote locations with extended transport times.

Emergency medical/trauma response in Tempe and Scottsdale Arizona. Duties included scene size up, initial assessment, ALS interventions/care, stabilization, and transport of patients to the most appropriate facility. Other duties include daily check off of all ALS and BLS equipment on ambulance including EMS medications, supervisory role to EMT partner, ordering vital supplies, basic ambulance maintenance, station maintenance, and all patient run report paperwork. The Field Training Officer duties were that of shift supervisor and new hire preceptor. Oversaw daily operations at the field level for C shift in Tempe of 6 ambulances, each consisting of an EMT and a Paramedic. Liaison between management and field crews.
