I served as a point of contact for media inquiries, managing media relations and building positive relationships with journalists. My responsibilities included monitoring news coverage and public sentiment, providing timely analysis, and recommending strategic communication guidance.

As Housing Programs Specialist, I craft the voice of our Mayor’s Office of Housing. I help develop and implement internal communication plans and strategies to help channel our Housing (HOU) message. I manage our department’s social media accounts, creating content to increase community awareness of City housing policies and programs which included affordable housing, rental assistance, and services provided by outside agencies and organizations. I created a three-part video series on homelessness on Oahu to echo the effects of stigma and mental health in our community. I develop and maintain community partnerships in order to scale program effectiveness and participate in community outreach events, representing HOU to community stakeholders at internal and community meetings.

As a Planning Specialist, I created over 50 maps detailing flood zones during presidential declared disasters in Louisiana and West Virginia. These maps served to assist mitigation efforts for flood risks. My duties included writing Public Service Announcements and press releases for areas affected by natural disaster. I also monitored media messages to help control the communication climate of the affected community. I served on a team in a national call center interviewing individuals displaced from housing to identify eligibility for available resources.
