American Whirlwind Pictures is an independent production company crafting unique and moving experiences through Unreal Engine and Generative AI toolsets.

From script to screen, the Fellowship examines the use of Unreal Engine for virtual production. Being such an expansive topic, this five week course will focus on Engine fundamentals, model ingestion, linear animation, mocap integration, and basic look and lighting development. Participants will demonstrate their newly acquired knowledge by completing a series of weekly project assignments that will build upon themselves to produce a completed sequence within Unreal Engine.

+ Creatively collaborated, tracked, and approved VFX and color iterations.+ Initiated, implemented, and managed dailies workflow through final delivery on an accelerated schedule.+ Proactive liaison between production, editorial, and key post vendors, to eliminate day-of inefficiencies.

+ Collaborated with local EPs, GMs as well as global marketing, branding and design teams to develop strategies of maintaining brand integrity across each location while engaging each unique marketplace.+ Developed, implemented and managed company policies, procedures, and technical workflows for Deluxe Creative Services divisions in NY, CHI, ATL, and DET to insure brand standards are upheld across locations.+ Actively managed day to day operations and management teams at Deluxe and Company 3 NY. Implemented the personnel and resource sharing initiative to create efficiency savings at both locations.

+ Lead strategist for new and custom workflows for commercial and long form content. + Oversaw studio-wide operations for feature, episodic, and commercial post-production.+ Designed, documented, and implemented technical and operational workflows, standards, and best practices.+ Opened Deluxe’s first tri-brand location. A six-month implementation project requiring the training and management of staff in Atlanta, GA. The operational model would later be adopted by all tri-brand locations.

+ Collaborated directly with creative directors, agency producers, and DPs, providing final and dailies color across multiple formats for commercial and long form content.+ Assisted senior colorists in supervised client sessions via project prep, management, outputs, and QC. Extensive knowledge of non-linear video applications, digital file deliveries and tape formats.+ Daily management of all assets coming in and out of the facility.
