Ryan joined Biosero in 2021 with more than 15 years of experience in the laboratory automation field. As Chief Commercial Officer, he led Biosero’s sales, marketing, customer success, applications, and business development teams. He was integral in creating new opportunities through strategic partnerships, collaborations, and commercial agreements. He also oversaw the product roadmap for Biosero’s industry-leading Green Button Go automation scheduling and orchestration software suite.Prior to joining Biosero as Chief Commercial Officer, Ryan Bernhardt spent more than six years at Eli Lilly and Company in Indianapolis, IN as part of the Discovery Automation Research and Technologies Group; leading a team of automation engineers and scientists in the design, implementation, and operation of a variety of innovative automation initiatives across Lilly’s Research and Development Laboratories. During his time at Lilly, Ryan acted as the Automation Architect and Integration Leader for the Lilly Life Sciences Studio (L2S2); a state-of-the-art, fully automated Drug Discovery Platform located at Lilly’s Biotechnology Center in La Jolla, CA. Ryan received Lilly’s Top 100 Innovator Award for his track-based, modular design of L2S2 which incorporates a multi-level scheduling software infrastructure. This physical and digital automation architecture has influenced the design of many other automated platforms at Lilly and across the external Life Science community. In March of 2020, Ryan led Lilly’s rapid implementation of one of the world’s first fully automated processes for COVID-19 Testing. From the onset of the pandemic, this automated testing has streamlined the processing of thousands of samples per day for the detection of SARS-CoV-2 in patients throughout the state of Indiana and beyond. In addition, Ryan led the implementation of several automated solutions for the enablement of Lilly’s scientific portfolio across various functional and therapeutic areas. Prior to joining Lilly, Ryan worked for Hamilton Robotics in a few different roles over the course of five years becoming their Global Business Unit Leader of Emerging Automation Markets.
