In my time as an intern, I was tasked with the creation of the Elemental Live Monitoring Service (ELMS). As the name implies, ELMS is an analytics service that reports information about fleet usage and health to Elemental.Specifically, I constructed the pipeline through which metrics are gathered from Live encoders (via a service written in Go that runs on the encoders themselves), parsed and type-checked (in serverless AWS Lambda functions), and stored (in a Postgres database running in Amazon's Relational Database Service).

I taught Computer Science 311, which focuses on computational models and computability theory. The course explores computability through the construction of abstract machines such as finite state automata, pushdown automata, and Turing machines. With these machines as computational models, we explore the boundary between what is and is not possible to compute or solve algorithmically.The course ends with an introduction to time and space complexity, which allows us to analyze the efficiency of our programs and algorithms and to classify those problems that can be solved efficiently.In the past, I've also been a teaching assistant for:• Computer Science 251, a course on formal logic which teaches proof strategies in the context of propositional and predicate calculus• Computer Science 201, an introductory systems programming course. In addition to teaching programming in C and x86-64 assembly, this class covers low-level concepts such as binary representations of various data types, caching, and the layout of both programs on disk and processes in memory.

I integrated the Scratch-it platform with a number of email service providers, allowing marketers to send Scratch-it content to customers through their existing email service with the click of a button. These integrations are built in Ruby with a frontend developed in AngularJS, and communicate with the email service providers via REST or SOAP APIs.

During the summer of 2014, I designed a cybersecurity curriculum for Cyber Academy, a summer camp run by Saturday Academy. It teaches students to reverse-engineer compiled software running on a Texas Instruments MSP430 microcontroller before moving on to a standard Intel x86 processor.This curriculum was used in Cyber Academy during the summer of 2015. I also taught it myself the following fall.
