Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) plays a direct role in the government's acquisition process. they are in charge of Contracts, Engineering and Quality Assurance/Control. I am directly responsible for a DCMA site that handles products from vehicles to ammunition. I ensure that there is an established communication between all members of the team to give the government and especially the warfighter the best product possible in a timely manner. Manages a team thats responsibilities include:-Contractor Quality Management System audits and reviews. ISO 9001, AS 9110 Rev A&B, and any other higher quality management requirements in both production and manufacturing. -Evaluating the capability of contractors means to carry out and achieve the terms and requirements of the contract.-Ensuring all of the special processes are valid and have a traceable means.-Identify defects, and ensure the root cause and corrective action process is completed effectively preventing the reoccurrence of defects. -Manages the hiring process to fill specialized billets to fulfill the needs of the agency.

Leads and manages 71+ personnel in an organization performing a variety of quality assurance and quality control oversight functions: production operations in maintenance, repair, and overhaul of rotary wing aircraft (SH-60, HH-60, UH-60, AH-64, CH-47, MH-47G, OH-58) assemblies, sub-assemblies, accessories, components, and parts in accordance with the Depot Maintenance Concept. -Directly responsible for the planning, coordination and direction of a variety of work operations and functions through first-line supervisors of individual work units. Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness and efficiency of the organization with all subordinate supervisors in order to take actions necessary to ensure accomplishment of the organizations functions as it relates to the depot primary mission. -Establishes timelines, monitors the accomplishment of assignments and a wide variety of projects, reviewing and evaluating programs during execution and utilization of funds provided. -Plans allocation of resources and the distribution of work to subordinate supervisors. Participates with higher level management officials and subordinate supervisors in studying and developing recommendations concerning changes in work schedules, work techniques and standards; revisions to organizational structures, responsibilities, and relationships; and improvement and/or modernization of equipment, facility layout and workflow. -Reviews both immediate and long-range requirements based on workload forecasts and develops plans for meeting resource requirements. Conducts efforts to assure work is accomplished effectively, solves technical and management problems, and makes recommendations for improvement to methods of accomplishing work. -Makes recommendations to ensure the Depot processes are in accordance with Aerospace Standard (AS9110 Rev A), ISO 9001, and Lean Six Sigma.

Coordinated operations involving other maintenance shops and supervisors. Distributed priorities with skill levels of subordinate workers. -Trained subordinate workers in day to day operations to meet goals and schedules. Instructed subordinates on day to day scheduled and unscheduled maintenance to meet goals of flight schedule as directed by the Maintenance Officer. -Establishes and adjusts long-range priorities, schedules and deadlines for work assignments and coordinates work requirements. Analyzes work requirements to determine resources (staff, equipment, etc.) needed and makes necessary adjustments to assure efficient and economical operations.-Aircraft Intermediate Repair Activity Hydraulics Program Manager, managed over 400 pieces of gear and maintained records for command hydraulic maintenance. Scheduled preventative maintenance and mandatory inspections on all hydraulic gear in support of the Naval Air Facility Atsugi Japan. -Constantly improved work center with quality cost cutting improvements, Rapid Improvement Events. Cut 46 days off hydraulic dampner rebuild time with the use of part kitting, and adjusting the supply buffer. Reduced time to rebuild a hydraulic trim tab actuator from 32 days to 21 by implementing part kitting and training subordinates on a new fixture saving over $250,000 annually.-A/F 27T-10 Hydraulic test bench technician and operator/ Quality Assurance Representative (QAR).-Followed defect trends in components looking to initiate Quality Deficiency Reports (QDR’s/PQDR’s). Constantly reviewed and interpreted regulations and directives relating to quality systems and technical work requirements to make sure standards evolved with the implementation of new processes.

-Augmented Department Of Defense civilian employees, Contractors, Artisans, Machinists, Engineers, and Planners/Estimators personnel around EUCOM (Europe Command), and CENTCOM (Central Command, Africa, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Southeast Asia, Bahrain and Iraq) -Communication with engineers for implementation of Engineering Instructions for custom Depot level repair fabrication.-Determination of type of repair requirements in accordance with structural repair manuals for specific type model series aircraft. Classification of damage ‘O' organizational, ‘I' intermediate, and ‘D' depot level. Ensuring quality of rework is in accordance with technical publications, structural repair manuals, and engineering instructions.-Deals with high ranking military officials on a professional level with the ability to convey the priorities of the maintenance tasks at hand to meet the needs of both parties. -Manages field repair teams, through departments (Engineering, Planning, specialized artisans) an organization comprised of units dedicated to the Naval depot level maintenance supporting EUCOM CENTCOM and AFRICOM maintenance production and support efforts involved in Inspection, modification, battle damage repair, and fabrication of fixed and rotary wing aircraft airframes for the United States navy and Marine Corps. -Exercises delegated authority to oversee the overall planning, direction, and timely execution of depot maintenance production efforts; including assigning goals and objectives to all team members. -Deals directly with other production directors Maintenance Officers and Commanding Officers and support work centers concerning work related requests and problems. Evaluates input from subordinate supervisors concerning long range plans and subsequently manages the overall work to enhance the achievement of goals and objectives.

-Instructed subordinates on day to day scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on up to nine aircraft to meet goals of flight schedule as directed by the Maintenance Officer, and other priorities designated by the Commanding Officer. -Wrote annual evaluations of subordinate workers, midterm counseling and evaluated subordinates for advancement qualifications. -Managed leave schedules and manpower requirements to ensure the continuation of day to day maintenance and support of all operations. -Organized plans to discuss technicalities and requirements of program planning and execution of the respective repair, maintenance and operation work phases. -Controls, supervises, directs and determines course of action to be taken in resolving emergency situations that develop after duty hours. Informed Chain of Command, of these emergency situations, provided a briefing of facts and is than provided added approval guidance and direction as necessary. -Phase (Isochronical) inspection supervisor-Blueprint, diagram, schematic and drawing interpretation.-Corrosion control and aircraft painting on skin surfaces and structural supports. Experienced writing statements of work, classification of damage 'O' organizational, 'I' intermediate, and 'D' depot level. Ensuring quality of rework is in accordance with technical publications, structural repair manuals, and engineering instructions. -As a Quality Assurance Aircraft Inspector, Collateral Duty inspector, Performed audits, program monitors and implementation of Technical Directives. Assured all maintenance operations were being carried out in accordance with technical data and within the scope of the governing regulations. -Conducted quality evaluation surveys, reviewed work processes being used, safety practices, use of and condition of tools, accuracy and condition of technical references. Prepared reports of discrepancies and processes, followed up on replies and implementation of corrective actions.
