About Ryan Bowen

My current primary research focus is in machine learning algorithms for fault detection and classification. Other areas of research include optimization algorithms (specifically genetic algorithms), system of systems engineering architectures, and image processing. On the side I have been developing software on various embedded platforms.

His doctoral research focused on machine learning, statistical modeling, and embedded implementation of such machine learning techniques. In parallel with his graduate studies, Ryan lent his expertise to a wide range of projects involving application/embedded multi-platform programming, system automation, schematic design, technical writing, and IT infrastructure consultation. He holds a Ph.D. in Microsystems Engineering, an M.S. in Computer Engineering, and a B.S. in Computer Engineering all from Rochester Institute of Technology.
