Specific policy areas have included health insurance, property and casualty insurance, environmental and regulatory issues, healthcare, land use, and legal issues, including the court system and tort reform• Governor’s policy liaison for seven different committees: Senate State Affairs, Senate Business and Commerce, House Insurance, House Business and Industry, Senate Intergovernmental Relations, House County Affairs, and House Special Purpose Districts• Responsible for managing 468 bills through the 83rd Legislature, second most of 38 policy staff• Primary liaison to seven agencies, including the Texas Department of Insurance, the Division of Workers Compensation, the Office of Injured Employee Council, SORM, Office of Public Insurance Counsel, TWIA, and the Commission on State Emergency Communications; also had specific responsibilities with the Attorney General's office and court related agencies.

• Researched and drafted papers on policy issues and legislation in front of the Texas Legislature• Received recognition in at least 16 publications, including the Wall Street Journal, Texas Lawyer, the Dallas Morning News, the Houston Chronicle, and the Austin-American Statesman• Articles include research on electricity, energy, renewable energy, energy efficiency, environmental issues, health insurance, property and casualty insurance, workers compensation regulation, property rights, consumer finance, and tort reform• Experience testifying in front of 12 different committees, including both Senate and House State Affairs, Senate Business & Commerce, House Insurance, House Business and Industry, and House Land & Resource Management• Created system to increase productivity of analysts through competition
