In addition to engineering design and analysis, I performed structural inspections on a variety of structures including radial gates, drum gates, concrete spillways, and concrete arch dams. Notable projects include:Swift No. 1 Dam Radial Gate Retrofit & Hoist Platform Replacement Design- Performed 3D finite element analysis of existing radial gate to determine deficiencies and originate retrofit design.- Performed hand calculations to confirm gate deficiencies and prepare retrofit design which included design of welded and bolted connections, gusset plates, wide-flange members, and double-angle members.- Originated design of a steel hoist platform that bridged across each spillway. Design included steel members based on AISC and concrete anchorage and pedestals based on ACI 318.Bellota Weir Modifications Project- Developed design of new reinforced concrete weir and fish passage for the Old Calaveras River utilizing SAP2000 to develop a 3D finite element model and MathCAD to develop hand calculations for structural members and connections. Design included concrete-filled steel pile foundations and a variety of reinforced concrete design based on ACI 318.Mammoth Pool Penstock Shut-off Valve Enclosure- Designed masonry enclosure for penstock shut-off valve complete with steel studs on one side and a steel roof. Hand calculations based on ASCE-7, ACI 318, and TMS 402/602.Carlsbad Desalination Plant- Originated design of reinforced concrete debris sorting station located on the shore of San Diego. Foundation design included micropiles based on FHWA-NHI-05-039.Manzanita Lake Dam Schematic Design- Prepared concept design of wood pedestrian bridge to span across new concrete weir.

- Established gravity and lateral (wind and seismic) loads to apply to buildings and non-structural building components.- Calculated principal and shear stresses to design elements and systems including (but not limited to) roof beams, columns, base plates, member connections, and moment frames.- Assisted in compiling complete structural calculation reports for ground-up residential design, per CBC-16. - Drafted civil and structural elements with AutoCAD and assist in compiling complete structural plans, which include General Notes, Typical Details, Foundation Plans, Framing Plans, and Structural Details.
