As an artist, I find that my most productive moments occur during periods of focused, solitary work. Therefore, my creative process is greatly enhanced when I immerse myself in inspiring music. I love to start my drawing sessions with some records on hand, as it gets me in a creative headspace from which I can start working. When I am in my zone, I can turn abstract ideas into visual masterpieces, providing a sense of depth and uniqueness to my artwork which is not always found in other artists. I love tackling questions with no definitive answers and using art as a medium to convey my thoughts and beliefs about life’s deepest dilemmas.During my time at Seoul International School (SIS), I have been able to fulfill many accomplishments regarding my artistic development, both in and out of the school campus. With some peers from SIS, I participated in two business competitions where I worked as the coordinator for graphic design and product development, helping my team finish first place in one of the events. Utilizing my graphic design skills to help achieve success in an event not just with my peers but as a representative of my school was one of the most memorable experiences I have had in my artistic career so far. I have also worked with private art galleries in Korea to help them create sleek and minimalistic logos. These galleries have been showcased around several locations in Korea and were one of the first and most enjoyable design projects I have had the opportunity to work on.I also enjoy pursuing fine arts, as it provides me with a unique platform to authentically express facets of my personality and innermost thoughts. This is something I actively try to pursue in all of my artistic projects, as the freedom to express myself is the primary reason I make art in the first place. With this principle in mind, I curated a profoundly personal art portfolio during my junior year, delving into the intricacies of religious themes and concepts. Parts of my portfolio were recognized by the East Asia Regional Council of Schools (EARCOS), which published my artwork in the Spring 2023 edition of the EARCOS Triannual Journal. Creativity and freedom are the two tenets I live and work by. I love to tackle unconventional methods and ideas in my artwork, which is impossible without creative freedom. I also believe that living with these values in mind helps you live a more enjoyable and fulfilling life.
