• Designs hardware modifications and system specifications for multiple deposition equipment product lines, spanning thermal/plasma ALD reactors, batch/super batch furnaces, and high-precision single wafer systems• Establishes productive communication channels across a language barrier between the TEL factory, 3rd party suppliers, and customers to define the direction of development projects and support customer pathfinding initiatives• Collaborates with overseas design teams, domestic design teams, and OEM suppliers to bring new cutting-edge deposition tools from concept to operation within customer fabs• Offers technical support from a design perspective to local field and quality teams to ensure rapid resolution to customer issues

• Performs maintenance, upgrades, modifications, and installations of thermal processing semiconductor equipment in an experimental, R+D fab environment• Coordinates directly with the internal field engineering and tech support teams, as well as customer faculties teams and tool owners to maximize equipment up-time and minimize the impact of interruptions• Maintains an in-depth technical knowledge of all equipment components and subsystems• Troubleshoots electrical, mechanical, and process related issues using an analytical and systematic approach, incorporating historical data and hardware inspection• Collaborates with the design team to implement solutions to identified problems and verify the performance of equipment modifications

• Assists students one-on-one with STEM class material• Responsible for monitoring student progress, ensuring student understanding, and supporting students’ academic pursuits however possible

• Completed several design projects, including: o A system to reduce wasted photoresist in the photomask manufacturing process o Structural improvements for a E-beam column hoist, improving speed and safety of maintenance o A redesigned alignment chamber to center blank plates regardless of error in position of a robot arm, improving Etch tool handling and reducing defectivity o Custom storage system to protect fragile aperture sliders • Each project designed for either cleanroom or vacuum use • Each project included creating machining schematics and preforming design analysis/verification • Documented all data and designs in comprehensive technical reports and delivered summary presentations

• Microgravity University program “challenges undergraduate students to design, build, and test tools that address several problems in space exploration.”• Team is responsible for designing and fabricating a custom tool to solve a problem NASA is currently facing. We travel to Houston, Texas every year to evaluate our device in a simulated test scenario at NASA's Neutral Buoyancy Laboratory, one of the largest and most advanced facilities for microgravity research and training. • Team documents all aspects of the project in technical reports and schematics.• Team engages in extensive outreach to promote STEM Education, including community events, festivals, and presentations to school groups. We interact with over 8,000 students and family members in the Treasure Valley each year.
