Creating an elegant solution that allows each partner to succeed financially is thrilling!I started my engineering career at American Microsystems, Inc (AMI) as a chip designer. I was working on Application Specific Integrated Circuits (ASICs), which put me in direct contact with customers who needed cost-effective solutions to their technical problems. This exposure to the fusion of technology and business set the course of my career.A move to the Salt Lake City, UT metro area allowed me to learn valuable team management skills as I led a team of ~20 IC design and layout engineers creating custom silicon solutions for customers in military, industrial, medical, and automotive markets.My next move into technical marketing helped me hone my business acumen and leadership style. Working with sales professionals, I was tasked with utilizing our technologies to collaboratively writing proposals for large development projects that would result in revenue growth at expected gross margins. This marketing role eventually led to a product line management role and P&L responsibility.Through multiple acquisitions and organic growth, I eventually managed a large business division at ON Semiconductor. Our divisional revenues were ~$600M, with GM% > 45%, posting excellent results for the company. I was grateful to lead a team of >600 professionals around the world (US, India, Japan, Belgium, Korea, Philippines) to produce leading semiconductor solutions for the Industrial, Military and Medical customers with global scope.In July 2021, after 26+ years in semiconductor design & manufacturing, I was ready to stretch again. I was fortunate to land at Rohinni, an incredibly innovative start-up in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, as President and CEO.
