Reporting directly to Professor of Molecular Pharmacology, I developed disruptors of protein-protein interactions with therapeutic potential. I utilised Peptide Array technology as platform for designing Fluorescence Polarisation Assays to screen for small molecule disruptors of target proteins’ interactions.• I Co-ordinated a number of high-throughput screening programmes in the search for small molecules that can treat a variety of diseases, including - Cancer, heart disease, stroke, fibrosis and Alzheimer’s disease. These programmes required large volume recombinant protein expression and purification which was fulfilled under tight milestones and required functional, high quality protein.• I created appropriate cellular assays to validate hit compounds for the various disease indications.• I led several projects including developing disruptors of E3 ligase/DUB-target protein interaction in order to increase/decrease target protein levels that would be therapeutically advantageous.• I developed novel PDE4 inhibitors and worked on a number of collaborative projects with pharmaceutical industry partners to characterise PDE inhibitor efficacy in various disease settings, particularly neurological diseases, inflammatory disorders and cancer. These compounds are currently being investigated by a research group in Japan being as a treatment for colorectal cancer.

Reporting directly to VP of European & Australia Operations I project managed the design, installation and commissioning of 3rd party manufacturing facilities and production lines for global clients, including HP, Apple, Cisco Systems and Acer. Each client required bespoke production facilities and being a third party we had to ensure margins were protected through achieving high productivity and quality goals.• As part of a transition programme my remit was to manage and train teams of local engineers so that they could become self-sufficient after handover• I introduced and championed Lean Manufacturing techniques to improve productivity and reduce health & safety issues• I collaborated with Quality department to ensure the facilities, production processes and relevant quality systems were compliant with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 etc.• Leading cross-functional continuous improvement teams to address day-to-day manufacturing issues that were impacting productivity goals• The last production facility I designed and installed for Cisco Systems now has over 12 copies and they have not improved on the original process and production line setup I designed• eSOP creation and maintenance – This allowed rapid delivery of work instructions to operators that were specific to the product they were manufacturing. This gave a high degree of flexibility to operations and scheduling. eSOP could also be readily altered to suit changes in BoM
