I sit in the center of one the largest Scala code bases in the world and spend my days analyzing our platform inefficiencies, both macro and micro, and come up with strategies and a vision to help move the entire platform forward. My ultimate goals are to reduce the friction that impacts our time-to-market for the various businesses we support and drive the platform towards reaching close to continuous deployment. Moreover, I help to manage and advise our SDLC, QA, Tools, and Release Management teams and help oversee our Testing, Grid Computing and Container Visualization deployment strategies. We support 600+ active contributors and run on 1000's of compute nodes.I would also consider myself a true technologist. With my limited spare time I like to stay current with everything happening within the Scala / Java community and I have spent considerable time developing in Scala / Java / C# / Python / Web professionally, having written my first Java programs in 1998. These days I write significantly less code but help to review and advise on many changes made both to the core and periphery of the platform.Lastly, I would consider myself a good mentor and guide for junior and senior developers who are looking to grow further and become experts and future leaders.And one more thing: I AM HIRING! I am looking for eager developers in NY, Montreal, and London looking to make an impact and help me optimize our entire SDLC function. These roles would consist of a balance between Scala and Python (80% / 20%) with a sprinkle of Web technologies as well.
