    I was promoted to Business Manager following working closely with the Community Trust during my work placement at the Club and making strong connections with the staff. I look after the financial procedures at the Community Trust which include paying and creating invoices to be paid to the business for various projects. I liaise with our accountants on a weekly basis who provide quarterly accounts for the Community Trust as well as communicate efficiently with our Payroll providers who are on call throughout the week to discuss any staff queries that arise across the business. I am also in charge of the casual staff’s timesheets and ensuring these are signed off and paid prior to payday.On a day-to-day basis, I lead on all HR and recruitment within the Community Trust and ensure that new permanent and casual staff receive all of the relevant policies and information that will give them the foundation to build upon to become successful in their role. This also includes working on the job description with the line manager, taking a leading role in the interview panel and informing the candidates of the result of the interview. An additional role that I have taken on is that I am the Data Protection Officer for the Community Trust where I make sure that I am up to date with any changes in government regulations that could impact the business.I also act as the player liaison officer at the Community Trust, ensuring that any player visits are organised at times that suit both the players and the Community Trust. These include players visiting half term football camps, attending an after-school club explaining the importance of a healthy and active lifestyle.

    Following on from graduating at Coventry University, I was offered a job back at Birmingham City FC working in the HR Department. Every day is very different and my tasks are varied across all departments at the club. I assist with the onboarding of casual workers, as during the week the stadium is very busy due to the Conferences and Events taking place. As well as then on a match day there are several potential roles for someone looking for part time work at BCFC. I also assist in the recruitment of permanent staff, using our online recruitment system Blue Octopus to create interviews, look at applications for hiring managers as well as any other ad hoc responsibilities given to me. I also distribute all our vacancies onto UK Sport as well as our 125+ contacts which include Universities, charities and job centres within the West Midlands. I also create reports on our HR system Vanquish that can aid staff with their time keeping as well as monitoring and updating holidays and lieu time within the business and ensuring relevant systems and payroll are informed. Another duty of mine is to give HR induction's to new member's of staff based at the Stadium and the Training Ground which includes all relevant information relating to working for the club.
