A large part of my day to day activities includes receipting cell deliveries and banking them away into large cryogenic tanks, followed by updating Smartsheet and CLT to keep track of cells within the facility. This is also the case for the cells which are grown within our labs.Another main part of the job would be the approval of outgoing global shipment orders, while sticking to strict regulations. This would then lead into the picking of the cell vials out of the tanks and preparing them for delivery for the following day. Consolidating and sorting the boxes within the tanks to ensure work is completed efficiently, and minimises mistakes when it comes to finding and picking vials. General maintenance of two laboratories (Stock, PPE, equipment and cleaning) including within the Global Cell Bank, to establish a safe and efficient working environment.Working with LN2 is a large part of my daily activities, this includes filling the cryoshippers (used for outgoing shipments) and also the cryopods which we use as temporary storage when working outside of the tanks.When problems occur within the cell bank and the labs, such as alarms, this requires troubleshooting the problems and making sure they are solved as soon as possible, to secure a safe working environment for all employees.Acting as Point of Contact for customers, actively engaging with them on a regular basis to understand their business requirements.Actively assisting in the move from Alderley Park down to Cambridge.Experience of working in compliance with global standards and regulations following defined SOP’s.
