I started my role as a Resource Controller in August 2022. This role consists of managing the outside Police Officers in a dedicated area in which I receive the job that has been taken from the Call Handler and is sent across to myself. I then review the log that they have created, ensure the risk of that particular job has been managed or negated correctly and it is up to myself to allocate to the right unit that is free at the time. Within my role there has been challenges in which there is an immediate risk to both the public and the police officers dealing and it is up to myself to make sure there is no harm caused and ensure everyone’s safety. I must communicate correctly and concisely the information I have received to the officers on patrol, the Sergeant’s and Inspectors who have Area Command at the time to ensure everyone knows what they are expected to and where everyone is at all times. This role is incredibly fast based and there are times where jobs must be placed on delay when there are no officers free. It is then up to myself to managed the Threat, Harm and Risk of that particular job and I must complete all relevant background checks to make sure it is suitable to be delayed. This has given skills such as risk management and maintaining safety practices.

During my time at JD Wetherspoon I worked my way into a management role in a short space of time. Initially starting off as a Bar Associate where it was all customer focused based I excelled in time management, stock management and also maintain a high level of professionalism accompanied with focus on customer satisfaction. During this time I was promoted into management after the pandemic, which in its self was challenging as I had more responsibilities as well as maintaining practice and regulations under the new restrictions that were in place. I had day to day run of the pub that oversaw 50 members of staff. I was in charge of rotas, stock management, performance reviews as well as weekly meetings with the area manager. During this time I had refined my high aptitude with customer service as well as adding skills such as: Man Management, Trainjng and Developing other members of staff and also working and developing relationships with shareholders and other senior management of the hierarchy.
