While working in a communications role through regular business hours, I also still actively contribute to a range of local and national papers as a sports journalist. The areas covered include League of Ireland and Junior football and GAA of all levels from schools to inter-county. This has also included a regular Sunday shift as a Sub-Editor assisting the Irish Independent sports desk from April 2018.

Communications officer for the European Network of Academic Sports Services (ENAS). ENAS is a Europe-wide networking organisation for professionals in the University sport sector. The communications officer role entailed duties such as the social media coverage of events across Europe, compiling the newsletter, website maintenance, future planning for ENAS communications and actively engaging all of the 120+ member institutions as much as possible. During this time, ENAS underwent a website redevelopment, a project overseen by myself in collaboration with the ENAS Development Officer and Clear Designs. The project was seen through from the planning phase through to launch. Other ENAS duties involved collaboration with international organisations such as the European Commission which entailed regular travel across Europe to participate in workshops around EU Sport events and networking.

As Media and Communications Officer in Trinity Sport, the day-to-day duties will include helping to develop and implement the communications strategy. In collaboration with the graphic design and video team, we have come up with a range of different concepts through which to best portray the Trinity Sport business while also aiding the Trinity College Dublin sports clubs with their output on social media and promotional material. This is done by way of brainstorming and working to decide which ideas best represent the brand/club while also managing which platform and audience would be best targeted.Other projects worked on in Trinity Sport include coverage of a new sportswear brand, writing a children's book to use for the on-site summer camps and aiding with event planning and logistical issues for events such as the 2018 Sigerson Cup final, Sport Awards and Festival of Rugby 2018.
