Investigate and administer workers compensation claims of a moderate to severe nature. Examine claim forms and other records to determine coverage and compliance of the workers compensation act. Utilize various methods of investigation and negotiates settlement with claimants in accordance with prescribed authority.

Serving as an advisor to the Board of Directors and fellow Board Members in creative thoughts, ideas and solutions to help maximize participation to IWCI functions, educate the workers compensation community, and generate funding for scholorships to area Universities.

Manage and supervise staff assigned to achieve the State of Indiana’s initiatives in printing and mail relationship with Pitney Bowes Management Services and Fleet Management including the agency's management and coordination with Enterprise Car systems; logistical operations supervision for the agency of close to 9,000 sq ft of warehouse space. Manage vendor relationships for partnership services available to internal and external customers. Directly responsible for management and coordination in the Agency's Departmental Operations Center as Alternate Logistical Section Chief. Directly responsible for updating, maintaining and initiating the Indiana State Department of Health’s COOP (Continuity of Operations Plan).

Conduct investigations by contacting both the employee and the employer/insurance carrier to attempt to informally resolve disputes. Work as an Ombudsman under the Alternative Dispute Resolution by mediating between Attorneys and injured workers without legal counsel. Appoint and review Independent Medical Examinations (IME) if the employer and employee disagree as to being at Maximum Medical Improvement and ability to return to work.

Performed telephonic case management of Workers Compensation claims by contacting injured workers, employer and medical providers in a timely manner to gather relevant information to assist in determining compensability. Managed and established reserves on lost time injury claims with 6 month durations or less with total medical, lost time expenses and exposure ranging from $6,000 to $100,000. Managed files with an emphasis on file quality, maximizing internal resources, and achieving a positive end result by returning the injured party back to work. Aggressively pursued claim resolution opportunities by building strong partnerships with internal and external Medical Case Managers in order to integrate the delivery of medical services to the injured worker.
