And in the process, to make sure the work is fun.In 2017, I was the Sales and Operations Manager at Boser Construction, Inc. when I had the opportunity to enter a collaborative venture to purchase the company. Truth be told, this was part of my master plan, and I was ready to lead the organization. That same year, we rebranded to BCI Construction, Inc.Today, BCI is on a mission to change the way people think about the construction process — to shift the experience from overwhelming, complicated, and fraught with hidden costs to refreshingly manageable, collaborative and transparent. Woven throughout our approach is the belief that we are “building something greater than ourselves.” This commitment is the center of all we do and ensures that our work is grounded in integrity, creativity, and purpose. The credit for this amazing journey is owed to my wife Bethany and our four kids. Truly all of this only matters – and is even possible – because of our family. We moved quickly to make this happen. - In 2017, we matched our previous regimes best revenue year. - In our second year (2018), we doubled our revenue. - In 2019, we rebranded to BCI Construction, Inc. and our growth ascended.Our recipe is simple. Through the mentoring I received on behalf of Joy Jayaram, Joe Gallus, Neil Johnson, and many others, I was able to understand the what the management role plays in the construction industry. I wrote and managed contracts, dealt with sub-contractors, wrote meeting minutes, handled submittals, attended owners and sub-contractors meetings, created and managed a punch-list, and dealt with much of project close-out, along with many others tasks. The opportunity was once in a lifetime and I was greatly benefited by the position. I was also able to be on the design-build, pre-construction side of the industry with two projects Ryan Companies was in pursuit of. The was also a great learning opportunity.Project: 2-story, 120,000 SF office/lab building in Northern-metro. -
On-Site Project Manager/InternDanny'S Construction Company, Inc Jun 2007 - Oct 2007Shakopee, Mn, UsAs my first internship, this was a chance for me to get my "feet wet." I handled daily management paperwork and played a large communication role between the site and the office. Other tasks included dealing with delivery of materials, workers, safety, quality control, schedules, time sheets, etc. The opportunity DCCI gave me offered a gateway into the management part of our industry and has played a major role into my success.Project: Ethanol Plant in Welcome, Minnesota (Structural Steel Erector).
