Behavioral Health Resources of Maine (BHRM) offers a range of mental health and substance abuse services to persons who are involved with the criminal justice system. BHRM works in a closely integrated network with specialty court case management, child protective services and other entities who provide supervision and structure to our clients. This close collaboration offers these persons the best chance of finding their way to successful recovery thereby avoiding further legal entanglements and living fulfilling lives in society.Our services include Medication Management, Outpatient Mental Health Counseling and Intensive Outpatient and Outpatient Substance Abuse Treatment at three sites in Maine.

MaineGeneral Residential Services provides high-quality extended care for individuals with chronic addiction to substances who need long-term, supervised residential substance abuse treatment.Our program is offered at two locations - Augusta and Sidney - for individuals who have had long-term difficulty with substance abuse and may also need support with a mental health diagnosis.Our program is licensed by the state of Maine to provide services to those with co-occurring disorders.The 9 Spruce Street, Augusta, location can accommodate eight women and the 2093 Belgrade Road, Sidney location can accommodate 12 men.Staff and clinicians on each site provide counseling, assistance and support for our residents 24 hours per day, seven days per week.Treatment is up to nine months in an abstinence-based setting, supported by:Daily individual and group counselingPsyciatric services and support for those with mental health diagnosesRegular participation in Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) and/or Narcotics Anonymous (NA) meetingsOff-site medical care and referralsAccess to immediate emergency servicesAssistance in acquiring benefits - food stamps, MaineCare and other community support services - depending on need and eligibilityExtensive needs assessments for coordinating aftercare treatmentThese services are designed to help adults get the extra structure and treatment they need to stay clean and/or sober and live successfully in their communities.

MaineGeneral provides intensive outpatient care for adults with mental health issues.Clients attend group therapy and education sessions four hours per day, four to five days per week. Clients are usually in the program for four to six weeks.These programs are ideal for people just discharged from inpatient programs or in some cases, as an alternative to inpatient treatment.In Waterville, intensive outpatient services are provided at MGMC's Seton Campus. Augusta Intensive Outpatient Services are provided at 9 Spruce Street.Services include group treatment and individual and family counseling, and referral for psychiatric services. Specialized treatment for co-occurring substance abuse is offered.
