As a canine search specialist, I am responsible for supporting search functions during FEMA US&R deployments and training with my canine partner. I am responsible for the care and welfare of the canine while searching disaster environments and locations. Understanding and interpreting my canine's behavior, our mission is to locate survivors in a disaster.

Manage the daily operation and training of Indiana Task Force One's canine program. Priority tasks include maintaining deployable canine assets; recruitment and retention of handlers; assessment of candidate canines; evaluation of canine search teams; point of contact for handlers for administrative and training responsibilities; and compile monthly roster of deployable assets for FEMA activations.As the Canine Coordinator, I work in conjunction with the search team managers and Task Force leadership to field the best possible canine search teams for the mission set on national deployments.

My responsibilities include public affairs, protocol development, training, operational analysis, and advisory tasks for a high volume 911 PSAP environment that serves nearly 450,000 population and 40+ agencies.
