As the second-generation owner of the family business my focus is to always be looking for new and unique services to offer our customer. I spend a countless amount of time working on self-development so I can continually grow and develop my leadership skills. Our focus is to develop and train great leaders in our company who support and believe in our culture. A strong well-oiled group of leaders who believe in, and take ownership of, our culture are the back bone of a strong successful organization.

As a project manager for a small electrical contractor you are required to wear multiple hats. When I started my career at Colwell Electric, I immediately had to figure out ways to get the company more business in every aspect of the business. I started by trying get more service work by creating flyers and mailers then moved on to creating a business portfolio to pursue new relationships with general contractors. I am not a computer or marketing guy, I winged it and looking back I get a good laugh at what I was able to create with my limited resources. The "good old boy system" lead me to learn all parts of the business, as I gained more experience through time I started to develop my own means, methods, and procedures. With my broad job scope and constantly wanting to make things more efficient and streamlined we slowly started changing the way we operated. It is no easy task when all the employees were very long term and had the "we have always done it that way" mentality.I truly enjoy project management because of the constant planning and continually having to think out side the box to get the job done. I have a passion for efficiency, improving methods, and coming up with new ways to do things.

RDC Armory & Outdoors holds a Type 07 manufacturing FFL license and a Type 02 SOT license. Our long term goal is to build long range precision bolt action rifles and R&D new suppressor designs.

My time at DE Harvey Builders was spent in the field as an assistant superintendent. Early on I was given the opportunity to work by myself even though I was titled as an assistant. With this opportunity I learned the importance of subcontractors and the understanding that we as a general contractor can not be successful without our team of subs. As an analytical person I was able to improve a subcontractors efficiency in a process that they had performed for years and help expedite the project making the contractor more profitable.I was blessed with the opportunity to work under some great superintendents both on the base building and interior side of the business. With these superintendents giving me the opportunity to operate independently, make decisions, and backing up those decisions, I was able to prove my capabilities over the years and learn a lot. Just before I left I was running the night shift on a two shift 18 story re-stack with about 100 personnel working on floors being operated under asbestos containment.Harvey was a great stepping stone, I learned a lot from watching the leadership team operate and seeing David Harvey empower the leadership team.

During the first semester of my last year at Sam Houston State University I completed my internship with E.E.Reed construction. I started working in the office doing hand take offs and learning how the project management side of the business worked. I them moved into the field to work with a 40 year tenure superintendent. Once my internship was complete I continued to work for E.E.Reed until I graduated.This experience shaped the rest of my career in how I handled situations and treated people.
