I worked for Miller as a consultant for 3 years in the GOM and then hired on as a full time employee in 2013. During the 9 years with Miller I worked jack-ups on the shelf, inland barges and land rigs. The last 6 years have been in Texas in both the Eagle Ford Shale and the Permian Basin. While with Miller I ran mud in anhydrite formations, high pressure environments, depleted zones, gumbo formations, and during SIMOPS. In the Permian I had as many as 5 different fluids set on location. In the Eagle Ford Shale the wells were produced while we were drilling. A polymer system was used and took returns through a skimmer unit. I have experience running clear fluids, WBM, OBM, SBM. I've run weighted and unweighted systems as well as clay free systems.

I worked for Mega Fluids in the North Louisiana Haynesville shale field.Along with my daily duties of lab testing, putting in treatment recommendations, maintaining adequate chemical inventories, and generating daily fluids reports, I assisted the R&D department in perfecting a potassium silicate system for drilling in anhydrite.

My time with Halliburton Baroid was exclusively deep water drilling. Before my 3rd year I was working lead on semi-submersibles and drill ships. Over the 7 years I enrolled in every class they would allow me to take. The last 4 years with them I was working in a dual role capacity- Drilling Fluids Engineer/Environmental Compliance specialist. Most of the deep water drilling was done with the aid of a cutting dryer to reduce environmental impact. As environmental compliance or total fluids management (TFM) I collected samples at the cuttings dryer and tested the samples to monitor the amount of synthetic base fluid we were putting in the Gulf. Detailed reports were sent in daily as part of my daily drilling fluids reports.
