Sr. Advanced Mechanical Design Engineer
Current• Plan, design, procure, and build novel hardware for trapped-ion quantum computers• Collaborate with atomic physicists on vacuum, cryogenic, detection, and laser delivery systems• Design ultrahigh vacuum cryo pumping systems using thermal analysis to increase ion lifetime• Package optomechanical systems using commercial and custom components• Layout unique multilayer PCBs for use in-vacuum and custom EMI/RFI enclosures• Create design packages with PCB fabrication data and mechanical assembly instructions• Develop rapid prototypes via 3D printing, laser cutting, and hands-on lab implementation• Generate BOMs, renderings, FEA simulations, and manufacturing drawings using GD&T• Function as the company’s SolidWorks PDM and Onshape Enterprise administrator• Authored and presented a Cryotronics Test Chamber poster at IEEE Quantum Week 2020
