Finding the cog in the machine.Thinking back to finishing university and staring down the barrel of adulthood I really had no idea of what to expect from working life or how I was going to crack it. All I did know back then was that I was fascinated by big businesses. I had a very limited view of how they operated but I knew I wanted to be a part of it.I was very fortunate to get what I wanted, a position as a management trainee in a big company as my first “grown up” job. In this position I have been able to learn a lot of different roles and departments in a reasonably short space of time and get great insights into the daily operations of big business as well as supply chain management. I now have a much broader view of operations compared to when I first started, and how each department needs to be aligned to a common goal if the wheels are going to turn smoothly. Looking forward, I am excited to absorb as much experience and knowledge I can get with supply chains and operations and keep my dream of adding value and innovating solutions for big business
