Original assumptions regarding independent variables were determined to be dependent on several factors. Per Hundred carrier weight, ship as needed not required, minimum bill amounts are a few factors that required control before cost savings could be realized. New process improvements did not create any roadblocks with stakeholders, primarily sales staff. They were essential to team building and buy-in for project success. Customer service teams, distribution and sales staff were trained on new processes for launch implementation. Process changeover installed in twenty-four hours. Monthly audits were created and feedback loops designed to validate process controls were being utilized and maintained through data extraction and subject matter expert review. o Kansas City logistics processing center - Kaizen methods and 5(6)S techniques used to increase efficiency Staging, processing and personnel efficiency realized through value and non-value stream mapping. Staging locations were moved to remove over 1000 feet of non-value walk lanes. Safety improved by moving stage location closer to processing cell. U-Shaped cell philosophy used to reduce employee labor waste.
