Business Analyst/ Consultant

Ashurst LLP. Aug 2019 – Current Position – Junior Business AnalystI started working with Ashurst at the end of August in 2019 as a Junior Business Analyst in the Ashurst BSR2020 Business Transformation Programme.The Junior Business Analyst role involves working as part of the Global Business Analyst Team to document As-Is Processes, with the goal of transforming these into workable, more efficient To-Be processes.Main Responsibilities• Capturing of As-Is business processes along with all controls, inputs, outputs.• Interviewing and shadowing key stakeholders and users to gain the knowledge and information needed for process mapping.• Identifying ongoing and potential future problems within As-Is business processes.• Upgrading As-Is business processes to become more efficient, workable To-Be processes.• Training end users on how to successfully implement processes which have transferred from a different area of the business.• Creating Process Guides (Work Instructions), Process Flows using Visio, checklists and other vital process documentation.• Simultaneously managing various workloads.• Liaising with colleagues who are based in different locations and time zones.

Main Responsibilities• Managing the delivery, operation and reporting of live managed service environments, as well as Proof of Concept environments for new and existing customers.• Providing support and development of the relationship between Proact (UK and Group) and its customers, within a portfolio of small to medium sized customer, throughout the lifecycle of any project delivery and managed service contract.• Technically responsible for the design and operation of live services of aligned managed service customers.• Contributing to the upsell of additional managed service offerings to aligned manage service customers.• To ensure that all SLA’s and contractual obligations are fulfilled in their entirety for aligned managed service customers.• To ensure that service usage metrics, billing and licensing for aligned managed service customers are accurately calculated and correctly reported and declared.• Experience managing services including Backup as a Service, Disaster Recovery as a Service, Infrastructure as a Service, Storage as a Service and Security as a Service.• Working alongside the allocated project manager, transition manager and technical implementation resources in the transition into production of the contracted services.• Chairing change-advisory board meetings.• Attending change-advisory board meetings to represent changes for aligned customers.• Creating and presenting technical reports regularly to aligned customers.• Creating and regularly reviewing service documentation including the Service Operations Manual, Change Templates, Service Improvement Plans and Disaster Recovery (DR) documentation.• Reviewing open incidents and problems on a weekly basis, and ensure a resolution plan is in place to resolve these in an efficient manner.• Contributing to the work of the Continual Service Improvement for customers.• Taking part in cross-departmental working teams as required to meet organisational objectives.

Solely responsible for updating and maintaining the university’s CRM (Microsoft Dynamics) as well as building a potential client base through Kompass. I was also tasked with managing the creation and development of new layouts and content for the web pages of a number of Research Institutes. Gained skills in management, multi-tasking and team work.

Involved in all aspects of the business, responsibilities ranged from booking and co-ordinating jobs to preparing invoices and managing enquiries. Gained management, client care, cash management and presentation skills.
