From Army Ranger Team Leader with the 1st Ranger Battalion, to Fire Chief, and then managing a welding and fabrication shop, now a welding instructor and recruiter for the Survey and Geospatial Technologies Department. My career path has definitely not been a straight line. I give 110% in every aspect of my life. Every experience has provided valuable knowledge applicable to the next role or challenge. I returned to college after 18 years working in fire and EMS. I started in Freshwater Studies and transitioned to Marine Tech. This led to an opportunity to pursue welding and this is where I found my niche. I received a degree in welding and manufacturing. I went to work managing a Waterjet business. I taught myself CAD and how to perform critical and basic maintenance on the Waterjet machine. I then started a custom welding division for the company that grew faster than anticipated. Our growth rate pushed 600% in 7 years. Our businesses attention to detail and finished products were the only advertisement we needed. I currently sit on the Advisory Board for the Welding Department at NMC, I am also an adjunct welding instructor. Working in the college setting and working for an organization that you can stand behind made me want more. A position as a recruiter for Surveying and Geospatial Technologies presented the perfect opportunity for further growth. I am married to an amazing woman and have an incredible daughter. My hobbies include; spending time with my family, golfing, mountain biking, surfski paddling, paddle boarding , target shooting, scuba diving and skydiving (sadly the skydiving days are over).
