I'm currently (since January 2023) working at Nevvon, whose e-training solutions support home care provider agencies across Canada and the U.S. It feels like my dream job: research and grant writing, for and about caregivers, working from home for a fast-growing start-up. More about me & my background:With an academic background that started in gerontology (undergrad and Masters from University of Guelph), I've become a gerontologist that embraces aging through health promotion and community engagement. After teaching ESL in South Korea for two years, I started my first career in research and evaluation at Parkwood Institute (part of St. Joseph's Healthcare, London), where my work supported the Specialized Geriatric Services program. With a growing interest in "best practices," I returned to school for a PhD in health & rehabilitation sciences, with specializations in health promotion, knowledge translation, and research methodology.I then became immersed in the business of healthcare through a postdoctoral fellowship at the Ivey School of Business (Western University) and then a research position at the University of Windsor's Odette School of Business and its World Health Innovation Network. With this foundation in health promotion, KT, research, and innovation adoption, I execute multiple projects each year by supporting my clients’ operations and business development requirements.
