I have a keen interest for improving production flows and processes for manufacturing to reduce wastes and increase production outputs, build quality and profits.I am currently a team leader for a joinery section at a successful boat building company and within my current position I am fortunate enough to be involved with the following roles and responsibilities:-Design and development for new product implementation - working alongside key members within the business to ensure our products can be built efficiently and effectively to meet the key demands - correct to requirement, critical to quality, right first time and delivered on time in full.To back up the above, I have gained qualifications in business improvement training, and to achieve this award I covered all of the key aspects required to succeed in lean manufacturing. Examples of these being 5S, continuous improvement, kaizen, value stream mapping, and reviewing TAKT times.I have a good understanding of the health and safety requirements required in manufacturing, from the implementing and management of personal protective equipment, through to manual handling of products and writing risk assessments / method statements. I have achieved an award in manual handling for supervisors.I am a member of the CMI and I have completed 4 modules in leadership and management at level 5 award and level 5 Certificate status. I have also achieved my Team leader academy award, which is equivalent to the NEBS or CMI level 3 certificate. I believe leading means being at the forefront, to set the example of standards you expect from your colleagues. I also believe in participating with your team so that you create good working working relationships to achieve your goals together.
