• I was recently promoted to the Head of Education and Registration for the Pharmacy Regulator in Northern Ireland. I am responsible for oversight of Education, Training and Assessment processes and lead on Registration processes to support the Registrar to ensure statutory compliance.• For undergraduate pharmacy courses-I manage and assure accreditation processes of those universities wishing to teach, and teaching, a Master of Pharmacy degree in Northern Ireland. This work is out in conjunction with the GPhC-I support developments in IETP reform leading to IP accreditation at the point of registration• For Foundation Year Training-I ensure suitable and effective quality assurance programme is in place, to be reported via the Registrar to Council-I support developments in Foundation Training Year reform leading to IP accreditation at the point of joining the register.-I manage key stakeholder relationships to ensure the effective delivery of the Foundation Training Year and the Common Registration Assessment• For post registration Pharmacists-I ensure effective delivery and reporting to Council on accreditation of programs leading to annotation of the register-I manage on developments in post registration, education, and training.-I oversee the current CPD regime• In the registration of Pharmacists-I oversee the student register and registration process-I manage registration in order to support the Registrar to carry out their statutory duties

My main projects include looking at the registration of Pharmacy Technicians, reforming the education of Pharmacy students, bringing forward new guidance on pharmacy premises and new guidance on prescribing• Throughout all my projects I have had to organise meetings and work with key stakeholders to give the most suitable guidance and carry each of the projects forward to near completion.• I also was able to provide advice to the Society on pharmaceutical matters in relation to fitness to practice cases to help them better understand the situations that were involved.

• Managed a team in a local community Pharmacy• Delegated roles each day according to everyone’s strengths to get all the tasks that needed to becompleted that day and had to rank tasks in order of urgency so that the most important ones weredone first• Provided services such as flu vaccination, Minor ailments service, needles exchange programmes,opioid substitution programs and medicines use reviews. We offered these on top of all the dailyprescription dispensing• We had to meet daily targets for over-the-counter sales, prescriptions and services which were allmet every day. These figures were then reported to head office at the end of each month.

• Managed the mass vaccination centre taking in orders of vaccines defrosting and filling out appropriate paperwork. Then getting the vaccines ready to transport to the Foyle arena to be used on patients.• Working in the vaccination centre with other healthcare professionals handing out vaccines to be used and checking that the dilutions have been carried out appropriately• In dispensary carrying out clinical checks on discharge prescriptions sent down by doctors to ensure the medication used, is safe and at the correct dose.• Managed the Specialist medication service on certain days working with healthcare professionals and the public providing medication that is only supplied by the hospital to patients. • On certain days I was also involved in the dispensing of clinical trails and clozapine prescriptions.

• Brought in on a temporary contract to manage procuring PPE for all the trusts in Northern Ireland.• Had to check over samples and paperwork sent in from different companies throughout the world and ensure they complied with EU and MHRA standards and had been licenced appropriately by a registered licensing body.• I looked at FFP3 masks and Type 11 fluid resistant masks and approved masks, which are now used in the trusts.

• I managed multiple stores around Derry and Newcastle on days branch managers were absent where I would be involved in the day-to-day tasks of managing the store, checking prescriptions and talking with the regular patients.• I was involved in providing services such as Medicine Use Reviews, counselling patients on the use of their medications and delivering the Flu vaccination service.• I had to manage stores that were in charge of making up medicines for certain care homes which involved putting the medication into trays and ensuring prescriptions came down in a timely manner so that the patients were not without medicine when the trays were delivered.• We had to work to complete targets in certain stores by completing a certain amount of Medicine Use Reviews and dispensing a certain amount of items each month.
