I had to take Engineering ownership of products from conception through to delivery and have to take responsibility for all Engineering outputs associated with project and ensure Technical compliance in timely manner. I have to ensure adherence to all Engineering processes and procedures along with understanding production processes and costs to minimise overall project costs. I have to review the baseline of customer specifications, support of Product Introduction Manager (PIM) and check engineering deliverables meet project specifications. I have to support and participate in ongoing improvements of existing designs, materials and methods to reduce the cost of manufacture, time to market or improve the performance of company products. My work on the VE BCP range has not only seen the product become more sellable, it has reduced the time in design by 70%. I have also implemented new structuring in Epicor and SolidWorks which make it easier for all other departments, this was enabled by a new software package called CADLink which takes your SolidWorks model and creates your BoM in your ERP system, this system also reduced time in engineering. One of the main projects I started in design was the Value Engineered product range, this involved taking our current motors which were all bespoke and create a range which could use common parts , this would not only reduce our lead times it would also make the parts cheaper. I had to work with suppliers to ensure I designed the parts to suit the best and most cost effective methods of manufacture Show less

Once the testing is complete I have to compile a test report which includes creating graphs, using excel and other internal software, when there are quiet periods I try to fill my time learning new areas of the business mainly the design stages where I have been learning to use Solid Woks. Recently I have designed a new system that vastly improves the safety of the test bay, this involved designing a mobile termination box for high voltage connections to motors and writing new procedures for all high and low voltage connections in the Test area.
