About Ryan Dunleavy, Ms
I am a Meteorologist who takes pride in supporting the mission of the National Weather Service. I started with the NWS as a student volunteer, then a student pathways intern, and now supporting operations full-time as a forecaster. While serving in the NWS in multiple roles, I have gained experience preparing and distributing forecast information to partners and the public via phone, social media, and text products. I support a team of Meteorologists with preparing and providing TAFs to regional airports, coordinate with public event organizers for hazardous weather decision support, and assist with maintaining forecast grids in AWIPS to provide forecasts. I also am upper air certified and support with daily balloon launch operations. To further support operations, I currently am serving as the NWS Twin Cities upper-air program and Storm verification focal points. Aside from forecasting experience, I also have my financial administrative employment over a course of a decade. Throughout each administration position, I’ve demonstrated progressive growth in my skillset in both state level, private business , and university settings. I’ve been able to demonstrate proficiency in financial reporting, state appropriation, foundations and sponsored award reconciliation, travel, purchasing, and procurement responsibilities.
