I enjoy learning and building! At Amazon we have a Learn and Be Curious leadership principle and it's definitely a principle that I've exhibited throughout my career. My curiosity and desire to help individuals build personal wealth led me to a career in Financial Services and deepened as I thought I wanted to be a money manager pursuing my CFA designation (completed level 1). The focus pivoted and my curiosity and desire to build financial models to evaluate opportunities led me to shift to FP&A at Target where I had the opportunity to grow and contribute to the success of various business units. The Target experience provided me the opportunity to begin to understand what test and learn meant and how you build businesses from a "seed of an idea." As I learned more, my curiosity continued to grow and I desired to build with Amazon who is known for innovation and leadership across multiple industries. In my current role, I have the unique opportunity to continue to lean into my curiosity and develop ways to accelerate Fire TV customer acquisition in our emerging countries. I've known I wanted to build, I just didn’t know how, where, and with what organization my builder mentality would thrive. Following my curiosity has provided me a cross-disciplinary perspective of a business (e.g. Finance, Operations, Marketing/Sales) which has benefited me in helping organizations accelerate their growth. My experiences have taught me how to be resourceful when tackling the growth needs of the business, how to deal with ambiguity, and how to manage through constraints. My experiences have also taught me that problems are hard but with the right growth mindset, a positive can-do attitude, teamwork, and strong accountability for the outcome you can rally the organization around the pursuit of your ideas.
