Providing photo and video production, editing, transcription, closed captioning, and colouring services to corporate and television clients, alongside research reports and implementation strategies for television program production. I have filmed and edited hundreds of corporate videos and researched for dozens of television episodes aired globally. Tools include Adobe Suite and Davinci Resolve alongside Microsoft Office and academic (JSTOR) and public research platforms for amassing and analyzing information.

Videographer and editor at Echo Bay Media, a television and corporate video production company with numerous Gemini Award wins and a recent Emmy Award nomination for its travel television programs. Clients include Air Canada, Tre Stelle, Canadian Cancer Society, Source for Sports, Goldcorp, and Honda Canada, among many others.

Shot across southern Japan as a four-episode television series, being a videographer meant that my role was to film the essence of the experiences faced in the field while pivoting direction in changing situations in order to ensure production success. Further, as pre-production Researcher, meant creating reports that outlined exciting content possibilities — such as learning to prepare notorious Fugu (‘poison blowfish’) — while navigating within the constraints of television production (and Japanese linguistic) realities. Finally, as Colourist, I took the raw footage and used DaVinci Resolve to craft a specific feel to the show.

A television series this large required extensive photographic assessment, selection, and editing of field photography for client end uses. This included photography metadata logging, both internal to the file and Excel sheet organization, for successful SEO social media engagement. The position further required a deep understanding of social media usage both in terms of media content styles and the needs of the communications and social media teams.

Discovering and conveying exciting oceanic filming opportunities for Céline and Fabien Cousteau, as they continued the legacy of their grandfather Jacques, in a three one-hour episode format meant searching the globe for fascinating possibilities. This meant connecting with oceanic researchers and dive operators to discuss projects and discoveries, linking them to the production crew and the Cousteaus, and outlining episode logistics. Sifting through large amounts of information, identifying key elements, and prioritizing actionable content, all under intense production schedules, was particularly rewarding.

As the crew navigated the South Pacific for this six-episode televisions series, my role involved identifying key destinations and outlining the opportunities for production success in remote areas. My reports provided a cornerstone for acting upon unique filming opportunities, all the while keeping in mind the needs of both the crew on the boat and the domestic production team alike. Discovering content and crafting narratives meant maintaining a deep sensitivity to those we encountered, from ancient Fijian fire-walking rituals to the legacy of Marshall Island atomic bomb testing at Bikini Atoll (and the story of its displaced people).

Colourist on Television series UpRooted - 12x30min Television Series - Cooking Channel US, Gusto Bell Media Canada.Post-production Colourist on a thirteen-episode television series shot in the south of France. Working with the editorial team, producers, and director of photography, as Colourist I took the raw footage and used editing techniques to craft a specific feel for viewers. As an international project with production crew members in different counties – and time zones – I needed to ensure that the input of all the key players was received and considered before decision making and moving forward, all while balancing tight production timelines.

Building upon the success of Departures, our team at Echo Bay Media took on an exploration of the world below the waves in a highly technical television series. As Researcher for this thirteen-part documentary, my role was to once again amass and analyze large amounts of information in order to identify the most engaging opportunities, formulate exciting storylines, and identify key field contacts. Success hinged upon creating a pipeline between the report and the production team, presenting clear logistical opportunities that could be acted upon.

As Researcher my role was to discover exciting story locations, outline possible adventures, and identify contacts in the field. Often given no more than the name of a country with which to start, this meant amassing large amounts of information, assessing the best opportunities, creating narrative possibilities, and presenting it all in a clear and concise manner for the production team to use moving forward. All while balancing production travel logistics, economic constraints, and the realities of television production in foreign countries.
