Anchored by a well-rounded liberal arts degree in Business and Economics from Ripon College, I have continued to grow and sharpen many skills and attributes that have advanced my business career in the manufacturing world. Starting in shipping and receiving gave me the hands on experience I needed to grow and learn real world business sense from the ground floor. Since, I have grown into positions of production and purchasing assistant and supply chain manager where I was able to further take those skills and knowledge and apply them in an office setting. Working right next to, and with, current business owners afforded me an even greater opportunity to advance my knowledge and experience. That experience has gotten me to my current position as a buyer, managing accounts with a total annual spend over one million dollars, across a multitude of product categories. Continuing to be an active member of the team has expanded my skills and knowledge base even further. There is something new to be learned every day in this industry. Participating in Kaizen events, managing inventory and stocking levels, negotiating vendor contracts, and continually looking for ways streamline my supply chain, are things that I look forward to doing day in and day out. I am always accepting of the next challenge, and I cannot wait to see what comes next.
