Learned the workings of the volunteer services department by fulfilling a number of varied roles. I refined skills for engaging with the public by leading volunteer groups, developing signage for public parks, and managing volunteer hours. On the natural resources side of this position I refined skills by drafting land management plans, performing site surveys, and controlling invasive species. In addition, I learned about the considerations that need to be taken when balancing public, private, and governmental interests for public resources.
