Profile bio

About Ryan Feves

I was born and raised in Eastern Oregon to a family of artists, musicians, tech-oriented business leaders, and medical professionals. As a kid starting in the 1970s, my parents operated a music instrument retail business which evolved along the technological trends of the 80s and 90s to sell and support hi-fidelity stereo equipment, Apple computers, and later advanced networking solutions for schools and small businesses. This environment instilled in me a passion for music and technology from a very young age. A failed attempt at fixing a handheld radio my older brother carelessly broke when I was 6 years old kicked off an obsession with breaking, tearing down, and figuring out how ‘stuff works’. The pursuit of studying and performing music brought me to Los Angeles where I have been involved in many projects, recordings, and tours. Working in recording studios sparked a renewed interest in the engineering and technology I was surrounded by growing up. This helped kick off over 20 years of building, restoring, designing, and bringing to market many unique yet fundamentally strong electronics hardware products. What started out as a vehicle to create and build music equipment not commercially available or accessible to myself and my peers led to a career designing and developing music equipment for brands and artists worldwide. It has kept me on a pursuit of knowledge that finds me continually engaged in performing music, studying new and existing technology, and sneaking into university courses long after my ‘official’ education ended. Drawing from my background in engineering and music I distill a unique blend of technical knowledge and intuitive problem-solving skills to elevate the products and projects I work on. I place a high value on integrity, transparency, and prefer the no-nonsense approach to assignments. I don’t sugar coat things or sell a bill of goods. I am upfront, honest, and I strive to get the job done right the first time. When there are setbacks, I provide the support necessary to make sure ideas, tasks, and deliverables are validated. Most importantly, I place high value on making sure the people I work with are treated with respect and with the patience needed to deliver exceptional, on time, and predictable results. I believe in accountability and when challenges arise, I first look inward to past learning experiences for guidance on how to engage myself and my colleagues to find the path forward to success.
