Program Manager

Waukesha, Wi, Us

In my role as a Program Manager I am responsible for all of HUSCO's Variable Displacement Oil Pump (VDOP) valve programs which includes a variety of OEM customers. I lead a team of engineers to work through improvements in the programs as well as resolving any issues seen in production. Along with HUSCO's VDOP programs, I am leading the launch of a new off-highway transmission valve program that will begin production in Q1 of 2025.

Jun 2023 - Jun 2024

Senior Project Engineer

Waukesha, Wi, Us

In the Sr. Project Engineer role I expanded my responsibilities from my previous role as a Project Engineer. This involved overseeing all of HUSCO's variable displacement oil pump (VDOP) programs and having an engineer assigned to me as a direct report.

May 2022 - Jul 2023

Project Engineer

Waukesha, Wi, Us

As a Project Engineer I was responsible for launching a new transmission valve program and conducting all design/production validation testing. The launch process included all internal/external deliverables and supplier/customer communication. The deliverables ranged from running a Monte Carlo simulation on all functional requirements to setting up cost models. Along with launching a new program, I was also responsible for several programs already in production. This included production validation testing for new suppliers, customer returns analysis, customer prototype shipments, and continuous improvement design changes.

Sep 2021 - May 2022

Quality Engineer

Waukesha, Wi, Us

As a Quality Engineer (2+ year rotation) I learned the production/operations side of the business by working closely with manufacturing, scheduling, supply-chain, suppliers, and customers. I was responsible for a variety of production lines that manufactured different valve programs. These lines ranged from low volume/manual assembly to high volume/high automation. I acted as the main point of contact for various large OEMs that these production lines were built for. When customer returns were received I performed thorough investigations to find the root cause: either the issue seen on the customer end or the valve failure. This often included a detailed x-ray/CT scan, cleanliness analysis, functional testing, teardown analysis, and 8D report. My background in mechanical/design engineering allowed my presented analysis on the importance of designing for reclaim to help eliminate more than $3,000,000 worth of scrap costs annually across Wisconsin facilities.

Jul 2019 - Sep 2021

Design Engineer

Waukesha, Wi, Us

As a Design Engineer I learned the basics of hydraulic valve design and setting up production validation/DOE tests. I frequently used magnetic modeling and FEA software (Ansys) to redesign valves in production for cost reductions. I also came up with a variety of DOE tests for proofing out a new sealing design that was needed to help with a customer leakage issue. Another project I initiated was writing an Excel macro that our inspection team still uses to help visualize whether connector traces on the CMM fell within or out of the print limits. This macro enhanced productivity by automating a portion of analysis.

Jan 2017 - Jul 2019

Mechanical Engineering Intern

Arlington, Va, Us

As a mechanical engineering intern I worked on cabinet design for naval ship electrical components (Circuit Breakers, Relays, etc.). I used hands-on skills to build wood mockup cabinets with cabling. I practiced communication skills with other engineers working on the same projects as me. I also worked in business development to help with the technical side of bid proposals.

Cast Iron Engineering Co-Op

Kohler, Wisconsin, Us

As a cast iron engineering co-op I worked on various projects around the foundry to design, modify and research new applications. I utilized communication skills with vendors, and co-workers from all different departments. I also performed a lot of hands-on skills and physical work on the foundry floor. Throughout the co-op term I was given more responsibility on projects.

Jun 2015 - Dec 2015

Engineering Intern

Waukesha, Wi, Us

As an intern I was assigned multiple projects to help bring the company up to all of OSHA's updated standards. This included MSDS books, container labeling and machine lockout-tagout procedures.
