Took the current concept/formula, hired the product developer as well as found the copack launch partner. Officially commercialized the product. Also, helped with GTM strategy and helped connect to a buyer at Costco.

Hired as part of their succession planning for the VP of Operations for North America. Acted as an internal consultant and conducted deep dives on direct and indirect spends, helped develop improved quality systems. Led a cross functional team to install in-line vision system which was a first for a freestone peach facilty. Design and implement a 1.5 year FAT methodology, negotiated the contract terms and worked with the Dir. of Ops to fund the project which resulted in an estimated cost savings of $1.5mm. The junior engineer assigned to the project made his MBA thesis around this project.

Led procurement activities for North America (Mexico and US) on existing brands and helped launch new brands. Saved over $2mm on glass for American Honey product line.

Developed an in-house contract manufacturing unit where I setup copackers for the Safeway private label beverages that had margin issues and/or couldn't be launched by traditional turn-key PL suppliers. I managed production planning, demand and supply planning, inventories and was SOX compliant.

Over the years at Safeway, between sourcing commodities/ingredients as well as finished goods, I saved over $15mm and avoided millions more in cost increases by conducting through and deep analysis as well as leveraging our sourcing process.

Managed the hedge desk responsibilities of $120mm+ in high volume commodities such as flour, HFCS, Sugar, Soybean oil.Took positions on the futures market, and booked feed and basis and/or toll feesPerformed sensitivity analysis on commodity impacts on private label products at the retail level
