Academic Research: At its core, my academic research focuses on the concept of governance infrastructure and the role that it plays in democratic quality, as well as its relationship to democracy and the economic outcomes of states. I focus on the primary role that the quality of a state’s governance infrastructure plays in the development of a state’s democracy and as a domestic determinant of improved economic outcomes. I explicitly focused on developing a mixed-methods framework that demonstrates that the institutions that comprise the concept of governance infrastructure are the primary institutions a state needs in order to become a high quality democracy or be particularly successful economically.Additional aspects of my research agenda involve examining the unexplored effects of economic dependence on areas of rivalry and conflict resolution intervention.Classes taught -POL301: Methods of Political Inquiry (Research Design and Introductory Statistics)POL360: International Political Economy
