As IT Technical Officer at Scottish Borders Housing Association I was responsible for the maintenance, support, and administration of the IT and communications systems in the organisation. As part of a small team of four in the IT Department, my main responsibilities include: • the creation and replication of scheduled reports (mainly through Business Objects, but also through Crystal Reporting and directly querying SQL and PL/SQL databases); • performing regular maintenance/upgrades on a variety of systems and software; • providing 1st/2nd/3rd line support to internal users, resolving any issues staff are having with any of their IT equipment both remotely and in person;• diagnosing and repairing any hardware issues with equipment; • server maintenance and upgrades (Windows Server 2003/2008/2012, and virtual servers through VMWare); • maintenance of business-critical MS Access databases; • Oracle SQL and MYSQL database manipulation and maintenance which includes bulk data uploads and scheduling/updating of any scripts/application triggers; • liaising with third-parties with regards to specialised software used by the company; • Active Directory administration; • Microsoft Exchange server administration (mainly through Exchange Management Shell); • Citrix Xenapp Server Farm administration/maintenance; • process-mapping and documentation for business continuity including annual disaster-recovery testing; • responsible for the daily backup of essential data and information for all of our systems using Symantec Backup Exec and VEEAM Backup and Replication Service;• maintain multiple environments for a number of systems/applications (Production, Test, Development);• updates of company website using HTML;• SQL Server Administration/Maintenance/Reporting;• full service delivery for various IT Projects
