I am a civil engineer with 20+ years of experience in commercial, municipal, & residential projects. I bring an extensive wealth of knowledge from my time working in Northwest Arkansas (NWA) and nationally. Having lived and worked in NWA for almost 30 years, I consider this my home and take pride seeing projects constructed and completed.I bring to the table vast experience with permitting, city zoning, and carrying projects from conception to completion. I have been along for the ride as NWA has grown tremendously, therefore, I have worked with the Big Four as well as all smaller towns through massive growth, development, and all growing pains that come along with such growth. I consider myself an expert in taking a client’s vision to reality while anticipated roadblocks, being conscious of budget and representing the clients’ interests when working with regulatory agencies.All leaders are only as successful as the people they lead, and I have had the pleasure of leading great landscape architects, engineers and designers. Prior to Kimley-Horn, some of these successes include local projects such as; The Ledger (Bentonville), Pinnacle Village (Rogers), One Uptown (Rogers), & Best Friends Pet Resource Center (Bentonville). Nationally, I have been involved with many clients including Walmart Online Grocery Pickup, Love's, Chick-Fil-A, & Valvoline Instant Oil Change.

I have worked as a civil engineer since 2001. In December of 2014, I continued my career by coming to HFA to lead and grow the civil engineering department. I expanded the client base to the Northwest Arkansas area as well as additional national clients. Our Civil engineering department consist of a variety of designers and engineers working together with of the client’s project as the number one priority. HFA civil department can provide landscape design, drainage calculations, SWPPP preparation, site wall design, and all aspects of permitting.

Fayetteville High School, Fayetteville, ARProject Manager for this two phase, new high school project. Features include new cafeteria, gymnasium, performing arts center and tennis courts, as well as significant renovation and re-purposing of existing facilities. To accommodate this site’s steep slope, Ryan designed a subterranean drainage system of precast concrete boxes to manage storm-water shed from the site during rainfall events to ensure the safety of structures and ecosystems located downstream. Total project cost is approximately $93 million.Fayetteville High School Tennis Complex, Fayetteville, ARProject Manager for Fayetteville High School’s new tennis complex located on Lewis Street. The state-of-the-art complex includes eight post-tensioned concrete courts and amenities such as bleachers, shaded gathering areas, heavy gauge fencing and tennis court windbreak material. A centralized drainage system was also installed to allow for quick play after rain events. Due to the unique slope of the site, a detention pond was designed and installed at the entrance to the facility. Drought tolerant landscape plantings enhance the detention pond area.Academy Sports + Outdoors, Fayetteville Ark. Ryan scheduled, executed and managed all engineering surveying and materials testing and site development permitting to deliver a retail facility in the time frame set forth by the client. This project required utility improvements, and presented challenges with nearby wetlands, deed restricted property and flood plain designations. Close coordination with the City arborist was critical in reducing the necessary amount of tree mitigation for which the client was responsible. The project was delivered on time and within budget opening for business in fall of 2013.The project was completed while working for another firm.
