Working with a suite of microservice based applications which are deployed as Kubernetes clusters on-prem and in the cloud (AWS). I have delivered projects to provide DERMS applications for utilities across the world. This requires a broad understanding of customer cyber-security, networking and end application requirements. I work at a technical level throughout the project life cycle to ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget, whilst meeting customer requirements. I utilise Lean principles to continually drive process improvements within my team and for external organisations. My key contributions were:Software Development - Defining the process and delivery methodology for a new Services Engineering part of the team (8x full time staff) to ensure custom integrations can be built and delivered efficiently and effectively. - Supporting the team’s learning journey by delivering technical workshops from surrounding Git, Python, PyCIM and API usage.- Acting as a technical interface between developers (Services Engineering) and the Solutions team.- Onboarding and supporting new colleagues joining the team in technical and non-technical work.Delivery Manager - Projects - Leading all technical aspects of a V2G impact study, using the DERMS Simulation module to study the client’s network when deploying EVs with and without optimal control.- Creating, documenting, and performing test cases on GE’s Forecasting module using Machine Learning algorithms to train Forecasting models and testing the product’s scalability (using Kubernetes).- Interfacing with DERMS product teams to influence product development to support customer use cases.- Working cross-functionally to re-shape the project delivery methodology across the DERMS Centre of Excellence.

Leading the development of the ZUoS Simulations platform, the company’s core software product. ZUoS Simulations supports the design and optimal planning of Smart Local Energy Systems to reach net zero. My role was to lead the architectural design and product roadmap of the solution. I was also heavily involved in utilising the platform for consultancy engagements and defining how consultants would leverage the platform for energy systems modelling. I worked actively with clients to understand their use cases for the product. Internally, I led the technical team to simulate decarbonisation pathways to understand in detail the economic, environmental, and network-level impacts of low-carbon technology deployment scenarios. My key contributions were: - Leading all aspects of the technical delivery for projects on the Scottish Islands and with multiple Distribution System Operators (DSOs) to investigate how low carbon technologies (heat pumps, electric vehicles and battery energy storage) can reduce network impacts. - Creating digital twins of distribution networks using GIS and network planning input data.- Providing demonstrations of ZUoS Simulations to prospective clients including network operators, energy generators and energy modelling consultants. - Co-developing the core optimization module for ZUoS alongside academic researchers.- Designing and implementing database schemas for time series results using SQLAlchemy.- Developing models of energy demand and user preferences from trial datasets using machine learning methods across heat, transport and power.

My work at Scene centres around smart grid applications in the UK and the Global South. I work across multiple projects to:- Carry out simulations and power flow modelling of low-voltage power networks- Model device control systems in Python for co-simulation with power systems simulators- Research innovative energy tariffs/network charging mechanisms to integrate these into our simulation platform. Along side this technical work I also support: - Community energy consultancy (for direct supply arrangements/shared ownership opportunities)- Grid connection quotes and applications (G98, G99, G100) - Project management of technical work packages- Consumer and industry engagement

My main role at Scene was the development of smart energy metering hardware for a Peer-to-Peer energy trading trial focused on deployment in South Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa. This year long project focuses on: precedent research; market research and understanding power electronic converters. In addition to this, I developed a tool to allow power-flow simulations to be carried out to assess the viability of new nanogrid networks. Further responsibilities at Scene include: - Energy access research: understanding key target markets for deployment of Peer-to-Peer energy trading.- Installing energy monitoring equipment and engaging with key stakeholders in the pilot project. - Consulting on smart energy systems for rural community groups in Scotland. - Developing case studies on innovative supply arrangements for community energy. - Representing the company at conferences and events.

Leading the university society which focuses on sustainability and humanitarian development through engineering and education. This involved managing two local and two international projects (to Cambodia and Romania). The society's local work is mostly independent, with some inter-society partnerships. The international projects work with the NGO 'Community First' in Cambodia and the charity 'FAST' in Romania. My key responsibilities as president were: - Leading the society day-to-day.- Overseeing current projects and working to develop new projects- Coordinating the 11 member strong committee- Networking with other societies and project partners

This free-lance work involved planning detailed lessons for A-Level and GCSE students based on the current curriculum. Self studying to ensure knowledge of the current course contents. Being available to answer any questions from tutees throughout the week. I was awarded premium tutor status in 2017 after consistent 5 star reviews and comments.

Interviewing and screening prospective tutors for MyTutor.After many years working with MyTutor I was promoted to become an interviewer, my main role was to introduce prospective tutors to the company, drawing on personal experience to answer any questions they may have and using my judgement to decide if the tutors will be a great match for the company.

Working with local primary schools to develop interactive workshops based on STEM subjects. I lead the team in weekly meetings as well as overseeing and attending the school visits. The society have developed stand-alone teaching guides that allows teachers across the globe - with the most basic resources - to make STEM practical and interactive.
