Senior Design Engineer
CurrentIn this role, I am responsible for ensuring that designs comply with company procedures, codes, and standards, with a strong focus on quality assurance. I lead and manage the design process, allocating tasks to design engineers and CAD technicians, ensuring technical management is efficient and effective. I oversee project management to guarantee projects are completed on time and within budget. As a mentor, I guide and mentor less experienced members of the engineering team, fostering a collaborative environment. As the Project Design Lead, I spearhead wing mirror design projects for large automotive UK and European OEMs, conceptualizing new mirror designs and developing robust design solutions that reduce costs. I maintain effective communication with multinational, multilingual teams to create feasible design solutions and collaborate with production and tooling teams to optimize designs for manufacturability. Additionally, I organize and lead product design reviews with cross-functional teams.
