Director Of Engineering
Current• Oversee engineering department of thirteen (mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and programming) for Pacific and PackWest product lines plus electrical assembly team of three• Actively participate and provide design feedback on new machines, retrofits, and aftermarket valued at $25M annually• Work cross functionally with all aspects of the business including sales, production, project management, aftermarket, finance, and marketing • Manage and engage in peripheral engineering activities including sales support, factory acceptance testing (FAT), site acceptance testing (SAT), warranty, and R&D efforts. • Actively lead continuous improvement efforts throughout the organization, primarily focusing on design and process improvement opportunities in the engineering department• Maintain engineering KPIs to ensure customer satisfaction and smooth project execution• Contribute to financial goals by monitoring engineering project budget and utilization, identifying improvement opportunities to lower cost, and participating in regular financial budget activitiesKey Accomplishments• Created engineering scrum with physical tracking board to track critical long lead items and assemblies. Maintained 90%+ on-time performance• Developed sizing tool for proper product path sizing, motor sizing, timing,… to drive standardization and reduce overall equipment cost• Implemented capacity planning tool for engineering team and electrical assembly team for improved work distribution and labor forecasting• Established standard customer deliverable package to ensure we meet our customers’ expectations while protecting the business from scope creep.• Traveled to various customer sites to support with site acceptance testing efforts to help deliver the equipment to our customer’s expectations• Successfully closed major warranty for project from 2018 by partnering with our customer and vendor to develop a solution with challenging performance requirements
