Great Plains SPCA is one of the largest non-profit animal rescue organizations in the Kansas City metro area. As Adoptions Manager, I oversee a staff of 10 Adoption Counselors. We are responsible for the successful placement of more than 5,000 animals per year. Primary responsibilities include the following:• Staff Performance Improvement Planning• Staff Scheduling• Training staff in the functionality of their role• Assure adherence to strict policies and regulations set forth to protect staff, the public and the animals• Manage retail merchandise center, ordering stock and tracking sales over $200,000 annually • Facilitate compatible matches between animals and potential adopters• Promote sales of Veterinary Health Insurance, maintaining average above 25%

Conducted company restaurant audits and franchise financial audits. Key achievements and tasks included:• Began as restaurant auditor, promoted to internal auditor and was outsourced while maintaining the position of Sr. internal auditor (a role that was created for me)• Developed and updated the restaurant audit program, including automating the process, that identified and mitigated risk exposure impacting the P&L• Performed franchise audits for owners with 2 units up to 375 units, which consisted of reviewing sales records, sales tax records, P&L statements, PCI compliance and bank statements• Development and presentation of Audit Training Classes and Workshops• Attending quarterly regional meetings• Designed, assisted and tested the risk matrix and processes for Sarbanes Oxley compliance• Extensive travel, including internationally, to perform required audits
