I joined KSM as a tester for their automated testing application called Toffee (https://get.toffeetesting.io/). With assistance from fellow team members, I started writing regression tests to test Toffee, and eventually moved into front-end development for it. This involved learning the React.js framework and gave me the opportunity to develop several webpages for Toffee's front-end. I also began taking on new responsibilities related to packaging and running Toffee in a Docker compose stack.

I worked with two other interns to develop a Cash Flow Prediction tool written entirely in Javascript, HTML, and CSS. The web application pulled expense and income data from Google Sheets and rendered graphical and tabular outputs using Chartjs and Datatables. Changes to the data could be saved to Google Sheets as a new sheet or exported locally as a CSV file.

A few months after joining KSM Technology Partners, I was contracted as a Java Developer to PJM Interconnection, a Regional Transmission Operator (RTO) responsible for coordinating the movement of wholesale electricity in the bulk electric grid. My primary responsibilities were to maintain and enhance existing Java EE web applications used in billing, reporting, real-time energy market settlements, and internal energy transactions. I used software such as Java EE, PrimeFaces, Jboss, TestNG, and Mockito to develop and test intuitive solutions to meet the business's needs. I also gained experience in the Agile Methodology with task management in JIRA, daily standup meetings, and sprint retrospectives.

Messiah's Collaboratory is a student-run organization that allows students to use their majors to solve real world problems. My team, Wireless Enabled Remote Co-presence (WERCware), was in the process of building a system that allows people with cognitive and social disorders to be able to function on their own. Anytime the client encountered a potentially stressful situation, a life coach was remotely linked in via a smartphone to assess the situation and calm the client.This project helped me gain experience in Matlab, Artificial Neural Networks (ANN), Fast Fourier Tranforms (FFT), WEKA, and Java.

During this internship, I performed the role of IT Technician and helped to sustain the IT infrastructure of Good Store's five locations. Some of my greatest achievements included installing power distribution units (PDUs) for remote power cycling, repairing electronics, and participating in the purchasing process for a Xerox production printer. I was able to add to my knowledge and experience in customer service and IT support.

My work at Fairmount Homes consisted of mowing lawns, trimming shrubbery, and pulling weeds among other things. It was a hard but relaxing summer job which gave me better insight into personal relations and running outdoor power equipment.

Organizing cables, installing software, fixing simple hardware issues, and assisting in network troubleshooting were just a few of my responsibilities. My greatest achievement was using open source Digital Signage software to create an intriguing lobby screen for visitors at the front office.
