Ryan Harrison is a highly accomplished professional with 15+ years of experience in Social Services leadership, training, education, strategic planning, and data analysis. He is well known for his service to Prince George’s County Department of Social Services, where he flourished in roles including Homeless Prevention Specialist, Community Resource Specialist, Shelter Director, Faith-Based Community Outreach Initiative Co-Chair, and Continuum of Care Committee Chair. Ryan was the inaugural Director of the Prince George’s County Family Emergency Shelter, where he oversaw the administration of a multi-million-dollar project for the Prince George’s County Government and addressed the housing deficit for unsheltered families. As the chair of the Continuum of Care’s Policy, Procedure, and Practice Committee, Ryan developed protocols to improve access to essential services for persons experiencing homelessness and housing instability, resulting in a noteworthy decrease in recidivism rates throughout Prince George’s County’s shelter continuum. Most recently, Ryan was the Senior Director of Loudon Homeless Services with Shelter House, Inc. He led management and staff and oversaw programs, including a drop-in day center, hypothermia shelter, emergency shelter, permanent supportive housing, and rapid rehousing. Ryan's philanthropic work includes serving as the volunteer coordinator for the Washington Commanders Annual Harvest Feast Turkey Give-A-Way and the Prince George’s County Veterans Stand Down Homeless Resource Day. He supervised and trained over 500 volunteers for these annual events and served on their leadership board for nearly a decade. Throughout his career, Ryan has held numerous leadership roles in organizations that address the critical needs of underserved populations, earning him numerous accolades and awards. He takes pride in his ability to serve for the betterment of society. His work ethic, dedication, expertise, and advocacy cemented his position as a respected colleague and leader. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communications from Morgan State University and a Master of Public Administration from the University of Baltimore.
